For searching Clermont County Civil War Vets 89th OVI site - Companies recruited in Clermont County: B, F, G with approximately 100 men starting in each company. Making up the rest of the companies are men from Ross, Highland and Brown counties. The 89th was one of the "lost" regiments of the Battle of Chickamauga with most captured and spending the remainder of the war in Libbey, Andersonville and other camps. Many did not survive. It has full rosters for each company, a unit History, diaries, and more The creator and webmaster of the site is co-author of the 2003 book "Sacrifice at Chickamauga: A History of the 89th Ohio Volunteer Infantry".
